What is the PTFA?

The PTFA is like the icing on the cake: we add that extra layer of support, fun and resources for Brenchley & Matfield Primary school.

We are a a group of parents, teachers and friends who volunteer who work together to make the school a better place for everyone.

Here’s what the PTFA does:

  • Fundraising Fun: We organize fun events like fireworks night, summer fetes, cake sales & plenty more to raise money for anything the school needs which will enrich their time at school.
  • Community Spirit: We bring everyone together with social events like picnics & coffee mornings. It’s a great way to meet other parents and build friendships!
  • Helping Out: We volunteer our time to help with school activities, such as coffee morning, supervising trips or helping in the classroom.
  • Making Things Happen: We buy extra equipment or resources that the school need, like books, sports gear or new technology.

PTFAs make a huge difference to schools and help create amazing learning experiences for all students.

How does it work?

  • The PTFA consists of the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, these are a legal requirement of our charity status.
  • To support these roles, we have a wider PTFA Team.
  • We also have a host of regular volunteers who support our fundraising events programme.

There is no expectation on any parent volunteer, any amount of time you can give to the PTFA will always be well received. You can get involved in many ways, from attending meetings to volunteering at events or simply sharing ideas. No matter how much time you can spare, your contribution is valued.

We understand that everyone’s time is limited. There’s no pressure to take on a big role. You can simply listen in at meetings or offer occasional help!
